When your appetite doesn’t feel like it used to
Stress or difficult experiences can sometimes change the way you eat. You may find yourself rarely feeling hungry or forgetting to eat altogether. At other times, you might eat more than usual or reach for food when you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or in need of comfort.

These changes don’t necessarily mean there’s something wrong with your relationship with food. Stress can affect your appetite in different ways. Becoming curious about what’s happening - rather than judging yourself - can help you begin to make sense of the changes you’ve noticed.

Counselling can help you explore the connection between how you’re feeling and your appetite. You can begin to notice whether you’re hungry, full, tense or tired - or perhaps needing rest, comfort or connection.

Healing isn’t about controlling what or how much you eat. It’s about understanding yourself with less judgement and gradually learning to respond to what you need with greater care.
